Crutzen versetzte die Scientific Community 2002 in Aufruhr\, als er verkündete\, dass die Menschheit ein neues Erdzeitalter erreicht habe: das Anthropozän. Er kam zu der Einsicht\, dass der Mensch zur stärksten geologischen Kraft geworden ist und sein irdischer Einfluss irreversible Entwicklungen in Gang gesetzt hat\, deren Folgen für den Planeten unabsehbar sind. Und tatsächlich vergeht heute 20 Jahre nach Crutzens Diagnose kaum ein Tag\, an dem nicht auf den desolaten Zustand unseres Planeten Erde aufmerksam gemacht wird: Anthropogen verursachter Klimawandel und Erderwärmung ebenso wie Biodiversitätsverlust und humane Katastrophen\, die infolge der Folgen der ersteren entstehen\, sind zu ständigen Begleitern in der medial vermittelten Auseinandersetzung mit der Welt geworden – allerdings ohne große Auswirkungen auf unser Handeln auszuüben. \nDie damit verbundene Frage lautet: Kann der gleiche Mensch\, der in die Anthropozän genannte Situation geführt hat\, auch wieder hinaus aus der ökologischen Katastrophe führen?
