This approach reduces waste and creates new business opportunities but requires a rethinking of production and consumption processes\, especially in the construction sector. Challenges include integrating new actors\, implementing new business models\, and managing increased costs and complexity while targeting sustainability. ‘Zero-kilometer’ material recovery lowers cost and generates local job opportunities. In South Tyrol\, cooperatives and social enterprises are already engaging in these material recovery activities\, involving vulnerable individuals while generating economic and social value. \nThe workshop “Circular economy\, construction\, and social sustainability: new projects\, synergies and opportunities in South Tyrol” aims to promote a dialogue between local companies in the construction sector\, social enterprises\, cooperatives\, and local administrators to support the transition to a sustainable circular economy. \nEurac Research will present new projects and services to enhance circularity in the construction sector\, focusing on the recovery and reuse of building components and the involvement of social enterprises for the circular economy. Crutzen versetzte die Scientific Community 2002 in Aufruhr\, als er verkündete\, dass die Menschheit ein neues Erdzeitalter erreicht habe: das Anthropozän. Er kam zu der Einsicht\, dass der Mensch zur stärksten geologischen Kraft geworden ist und sein irdischer Einfluss irreversible Entwicklungen in Gang gesetzt hat\, deren Folgen für den Planeten unabsehbar sind. Und tatsächlich vergeht heute 20 Jahre nach Crutzens Diagnose kaum ein Tag\, an dem nicht auf den desolaten Zustand unseres Planeten Erde aufmerksam gemacht wird: Anthropogen verursachter Klimawandel und Erderwärmung ebenso wie Biodiversitätsverlust und humane Katastrophen\, die infolge der Folgen der ersteren entstehen\, sind zu ständigen Begleitern in der medial vermittelten Auseinandersetzung mit der Welt geworden – allerdings ohne große Auswirkungen auf unser Handeln auszuüben. \nDie damit verbundene Frage lautet: Kann der gleiche Mensch\, der in die Anthropozän genannte Situation geführt hat\, auch wieder hinaus aus der ökologischen Katastrophe führen? We show that the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) raised sustainable investments globally. Using monthly data on individual funds domiciled in major financial centers and investing worldwide\, we identify a novel international spillover channel of industrial policies through these global investment funds. Sustainable global investment funds received more inflows upon IRA enactment\, in turn increasing their cross-border portfolio flows worldwide. Recipient economies better prepared to address climate change as measured by widely-used climate policy scores \nbenefited most from sustainable global funds’ additional investments in response to the IRA. These IRA spillovers are most pronounced for cross-border investments of passively managed exchange traded funds holding a multi-country portfolio\, with investments mostly denominated in US dollars or euros. Developing and emerging economies with higher climate policy scores attracted more investments from sustainable global funds than advanced economies. The results are robust to a rich set of controls and fixed effects\, absorbing recipient economies’ demand for foreign funds. The TranStat project aims to facilitate the adoption of co-constructed transition processes in Mountain Resorts (MR)\, understood as ski resorts and their territory. \nBased on a participatory & inclusive approach\, TranStat will aim at elaborating scenarios and co-constructed solutions able to respond to the challenges identified in the MRs.
