DESCRIPTION:Zwischen globalen Risiken und lokalen Strategien – Vortragsabende in Schluderns und Goldrain/Latsch \nWaldbrände wirken längst nicht mehr nur lokal: Sie gefährden ökologische Stabilität\, gesellschaftliche Sicherheit und regionale Entwicklung in global vernetzten Zusammenhängen. So beeinflussen Großbrände im Amazonas atmosphärische und klimatische Prozesse weltweit. Rauchpartikel von Bränden in Kanada können über weite Distanzen bis nach Europa gelangen. Auch im regionalen Kontext gewinnt das Thema an Bedeutung. Der Vinschgau ist aufgrund seines trockenen\, inneralpinen Klimas und als eine der niederschlagsärmsten Regionen des Alpenraums besonders anfällig gegenüber Vegetations- und Waldbränden. Die vergangenen Jahre haben dies eindrucksvoll sichtbar gemacht. \nWie können die komplexen Ursachen und Dynamiken von Waldbränden besser verstanden werden? Präsentation der Top-100-ESG-Studie und Diskussion mit Unternehmen und Institutionen. \nDie Veranstaltung bietet Raum für den Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft\, Wirtschaft und Institutionen zu den Themen nachhaltige Transformation und Dekarbonisierung in Südtirol. \nDie Veranstaltung ist in zwei Programmpunkte unterteilt. Im ersten Teil wird die Top-100-ESG-Studie präsentiert\, die die Nachhaltigkeitsleistung der größten Südtiroler Unternehmen beleuchtet. DESCRIPTION:unibz racconta il suo primo progetto di cooperazione internazionale in Ruanda \nL’incontro si inserisce nella serie di iniziative “Università svelate” organizzate dagli atenei nell’ambito della giornata nazionale dell’università (20 marzo) e vedrà protagonisti i professori Maurizio Righetti e Damiano Zanotelli della Facoltà di Scienze agrarie\, ambientali e alimentari. \nAl centro della lezione aperta\, il progetto “SUSTAIN-RW: Agricoltura sostenibile e irrigazione per la sicurezza alimentare in Ruanda”\, realizzato da unibz in collaborazione con il Movimento Lotta Fame nel Mondo\, organizzazione non governativa capofila dell’iniziativa. L’obiettivo del progetto è contribuire a migliorare la sicurezza alimentare nel Distretto di Gicumbi\, nella Provincia Nord del Paese\, aumentando la produttività agricola attraverso agricoltura sostenibile\, irrigazione e messa in sicurezza del territorio\, con interventi mirati per ridurre erosione\, inondazioni e frane. \nIl gruppo di lavoro guidato da Maurizio Righetti\, professore di Costruzioni idrauliche e direttore del Laboratorio di Fluidodinamica di unibz\, contribuirà in particolare alla componente tecnico-ingegneristica del progetto. Tra le azioni previste\, spicca la riabilitazione della diga di Giti\, progettata circa vent’anni fa nell’ambito di precedenti attività di cooperazione coordinate dallo stesso Righetti. Originariamente costruita per rispondere ai bisogni energetici locali e poi dismessa con l’arrivo della rete elettrica\, oggi la diga verrà riadattata per valorizzarne il bacino idrico a fini irrigui\, sostenendo la produttività dei terreni circostanti. \nIl progetto\, però\, non si limita alle infrastrutture: una parte fondamentale riguarda la formazione per rendere la comunità locale autonoma nella gestione degli strumenti e nella soluzione dei problemi. SUMMARY:International Week - Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)
DESCRIPTION:Digital and Sustainable Transition in the Automotive Industry \nThe Program aims to provide students with an introduction to the transition that is taking place in the automotive sector (e.g.\, efficiency\, electrification\, advanced robotics\, digital twin\, simulation\, assistant systems\, and additive manufacturing) with particular focus on the new technologies with an eye to sustainability. DESCRIPTION:IT_Pratiche professionali tra governance\, politiche sociali e democrazia. \n\n\nIl 5° Simposio di Lavoro Sociale e Politiche Sociali offre uno spazio di riflessione critica sui rapporti di potere che attraversano le politiche sociali e le pratiche professionali. Im Fokus stehen insbesondere die Wechselwirkungen zwischen demokratischen Prozessen\, politischen Maßnahmen und sozialarbeiterischer Praxis sowie Fragen der Governance\, der Care-Krise wie auch des kollektiven Handelns. \nIn Workshops werden relevante Fragestellungen behandelt\, wie der Umgang mit Machtverhältnissen in der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe\, in der Gewaltprävention in Einrichtungen für Menschen mit Beeinträchtigungen und für ältere Menschen sowie zum Neutralitätsprinzip im Kontext geschlechtsspezifischer Gewalt. Weitere Themen sind die Analyse von Macht in Entscheidungsprozessen der Sozialen Arbeit sowie das Verhältnis zwischen sozialpolitischen Entscheidungen und gesellschaftlichen Realitäten. \nDie Veranstaltung bietet die Gelegenheit zur Weiterbildung beruflicher Kompetenzen\, insbesondere im reflektierten Umgang mit Macht. SUMMARY:World Climate Game – Together for a Sustainable Future
DESCRIPTION:An interactive climate game where players take on roles in politics\, business\, and civil society to build a sustainable future through strategy\, cooperation\, and negotiation. \n\n\nClimate change impacts our society in many different ways. It is complex\, far-reaching\, and threatening. How can we help people face it with clarity\, confidence\, and a sense of purpose? \nThe World Climate Game is an interactive three-day\, app-supported board game about climate change and sustainability. Based on a scientifically grounded climate and economic simulation\, it shows how different aspects of the climate crisis are connected. \nThe game reflects real-world conditions. Players take on roles in politics\, business\, and civil society\, making decisions about the global economy\, geopolitics\, and social justice. They have a century (10 game rounds) to build an economically\, ecologically\, and socially sustainable order. DESCRIPTION:Eurac Research will host the 14th Annual Conference of the Italian Society for Climate Sciences (SISC) in Bolzano from 2 to 4 November 2026\, bringing the international climate science community to the heart of the Alps. \nthe Italian Society for Climate Sciences (SISC) will take place in Bolzano from 2 to 4 November 2026\, hosted at the Eurac Research premises. \nSISC is one of the leading interdisciplinary platforms in Italy dedicated to the study of climate change\, its impacts\, and related policies. The annual conference brings together scientists\, researchers\, economists\, practitioners\, business leaders\, and policymakers working across different dimensions of climate science and climate action. The official language of the conference will be English. \nThe 2026 edition aims to foster dialogue across disciplines and sectors\, encouraging the exchange of new research results\, methodological advances\, and practical experiences in the science and management of climate change. Hosting the conference in Bolzano underscores the importance of mountain and Alpine regions as key laboratories for understanding climate impacts and developing adaptation and mitigation strategies. \nThe call for abstracts is expected to open in mid-February 2026\, and further information on the conference programme will be shared in the coming months. \nBy hosting SISC 2026\, Eurac Research strengthens its role as an international hub for climate research and dialogue\, and looks forward to welcoming the climate science community to Bolzano \nMore information on the conference website: https://www.sisclima.it/conferenza-annuale-2026/
