SUMMARY:From ideas to market‑ready building solutions: benefits for housing
DESCRIPTION:How testing\, pilot lines and living labs support the transition from research to real buildings \nHow do new façade and building‑envelope solutions move from an initial idea to reliable application in real buildings? This question is at the centre of the MEZeroE Final Conference\, which marks the conclusion of five years of work supporting innovation in the building‑envelope sector. The event takes place during REbuild 2026 in Riva del Garda and brings together companies\, designers\, researchers and decision‑makers interested in testing\, validating and scaling new building solutions. \nThe conference is organised over two complementary days: \n\nMonday 12 May (11:30 – 12:15): MEZeroE contributes to the main REbuild conference programme with a panel session “La decarbonizzazione come motore di efficienza per la sostenibilità sociale e ambientale” open to the wider audience\, focusing on how testing\, pilot lines and living labs can support innovation and reduce risk in the construction sector.\nTuesday 13 May (9:00–12:00) | From ideas to market‑ready building solutions: benefits for housing: a dedicated MEZeroE event centred on housing‑related applications. Through concrete examples\, participants will explore how testing infrastructures and real‑world demonstration environments support performance assessment\, design optimisation and informed decision‑making before market deployment.\n\nRegistration (by registering\, you secure a place at the event and receive a ticket granting access to the main REbuild programme events): https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/9G5FRCS \nEvent website: From ideas to market‑ready building solutions: benefits for housing – Eurac Research

SUMMARY:World Climate Game – Together for a Sustainable Future
DESCRIPTION:An interactive climate game where players take on roles in politics\, business\, and civil society to build a sustainable future through strategy\, cooperation\, and negotiation. \n\n\nClimate change impacts our society in many different ways. It is complex\, far-reaching\, and threatening. How can we help people face it with clarity\, confidence\, and a sense of purpose? \nThe World Climate Game is an interactive three-day\, app-supported board game about climate change and sustainability. Based on a scientifically grounded climate and economic simulation\, it shows how different aspects of the climate crisis are connected. \nThe game reflects real-world conditions. Players take on roles in politics\, business\, and civil society\, making decisions about the global economy\, geopolitics\, and social justice. They have a century (10 game rounds) to build an economically\, ecologically\, and socially sustainable order. Along the way\, they face the challenges of our time and work together to develop solutions through strategy\, cooperation\, and negotiation. \nIn collaboration with the student association KIKERO \nT: +39 0471 012 182 – kikero@unibz.it \nSustainability Festival: Instagram \nEvent website: https://www.unibz.it/en/events/world-climate-game-together-for-a-sustainable-future \nRegistration: https://eventregistration.unibz.it/Login.asp?IDcommessa=UN26016&Lang=IT

SUMMARY:From prototype to second life of PV modules: New performance test and strategies
DESCRIPTION:The event is aimed at companies operating in the PV industry and will foster discussion on prototyping\, testing and recovery of PV modules. \nThe spread of photovoltaics in Italy and in South Tyrol is growing and becoming more established thanks to ecological transition policies at the European\, national\, and provincial levels. Over the next decade\, we will witness a significant increase in photovoltaic installations\, accompanied by the development of new technologies such as Tandem cells and perovskite. At the same time\, with the gradual aging of existing systems\, it will become increasingly important to develop sustainable strategies for lifecycle management and for the reuse of photovoltaic modules. \nWhy is this topic important for us? The Institute for Renewable Energy of Eurac Research\, since its foundation\, has carried out applied research on photovoltaic systems located at the NOI Techpark in Bolzano. The laboratories offer services for performance and reliability testing on commercial products\, as well as prototype and new product line development. Specifically\, the Institute offers the following services for companies operating in the photovoltaic sector: \n\nsupporting the development of new product lines;\ncarrying out sample-based quality checks on production batches from manufacturing lines;\nconducting research activities and laboratory testing in collaboration with companies and research institutions in order to make new technologies market-ready;\nperforming quality checks on samples of modules intended for new installations to verify compliance with the performance declared by the manufacturer;\nperforming quality checks on samples of modules from existing plants to evaluate their purchase on the second hand market;\nperforming quality checks on end-of-life module samples intended for reuse in other plants.\n\nThe event will be dedicated to the present and future of photovoltaic modules and will represent an opportunity for discussion between research and companies in the sector. New methodologies for performance testing\, photovoltaic module development\, and strategies for their reuse will be explored. A guided tour of the Eurac Research laboratories will follow\, including the Solar-PV Lab and the PV Integration Lab\, during which the new equipment for photovoltaic module prototyping and testing will be showcased. \nLanguage: Italian \nEvent website: From prototype to second life of PV modules: New performance test and strategies – Eurac Research

SUMMARY:ReNoN Project Workshop 2026
DESCRIPTION:Powering the future through smarter\, connected energy systems—discover how integrated networks can accelerate Europe’s path to climate neutrality \nThe ReNON Workshop 2026 aims to explore advanced methodologies\, planning strategies and optimization tools supporting the transition towards decarbonized and resilient energy systems. \nAchieving the European carbon neutrality targets by 2050 requires a profound transformation of traditionally independent infrastructures such as electricity grids\, district heating networks\, water systems\, transportation and energy storage. DESCRIPTION:Eurac Research will host the 14th Annual Conference of the Italian Society for Climate Sciences (SISC) in Bolzano from 2 to 4 November 2026\, bringing the international climate science community to the heart of the Alps. \nthe Italian Society for Climate Sciences (SISC) will take place in Bolzano from 2 to 4 November 2026\, hosted at the Eurac Research premises. \nSISC is one of the leading interdisciplinary platforms in Italy dedicated to the study of climate change\, its impacts\, and related policies. The annual conference brings together scientists\, researchers\, economists\, practitioners\, business leaders\, and policymakers working across different dimensions of climate science and climate action. The official language of the conference will be English. \nThe 2026 edition aims to foster dialogue across disciplines and sectors\, encouraging the exchange of new research results\, methodological advances\, and practical experiences in the science and management of climate change. Hosting the conference in Bolzano underscores the importance of mountain and Alpine regions as key laboratories for understanding climate impacts and developing adaptation and mitigation strategies. \nThe call for abstracts is expected to open in mid-February 2026\, and further information on the conference programme will be shared in the coming months. \nBy hosting SISC 2026\, Eurac Research strengthens its role as an international hub for climate research and dialogue\, and looks forward to welcoming the climate science community to Bolzano \nMore information on the conference website: https://www.sisclima.it/conferenza-annuale-2026/
